My fav three things to do with vinegar

You don’t know me yet but I absolutely love nature! I’m a believer in using natural products that are good for the environment, so I’m super excited about today’s post. I’ll be sharing with you guys my 3 favourite things to do with vinegar 😉

They are awesome and really simple!

#1 – Revive Paint Brushes
Are there any artists out there? I started painting after going to a paint night session with some girlfriends. It was fun! I don’t paint as often as I’d want to, so this tip is perfect for keeping my brushes soft.

“Soften your hardened, gunked-up nylon brushes by soaking them in hot vinegar for up to one hour. Do not soak for too long or the bristles may get ruined. Wash in warm soapy water, rinse, and let air dry. Once they’re dry, they’ll be ready to go.”

#2 – Remove Mineral Deposits From Showerheads
I did this one once to test it out and totally blew my mind! Now I do it every couple of months (Neat-freak alert! – lol) There are five steps, all super easy to follow:

“Follow these 5 steps to remove mineral deposits from your showerhead using vinegar.
1. Remove the showerhead from the shower.
2. Pour a half cup of warm vinegar into a resealable bag large enough for the showerhead to fit in.
3. Place the showerhead inside the bag and make sure that the holes are submerged in the vinegar.
4. Seal the bag and let it sit for one hour.
5. Rinse and wipe clean.”

#3 – Clean Your Dishwasher
When I first moved to an apartment with a dishwasher, I loved it! How did I live without one for so long?

“You can remove soap scum and any lingering odours from your dishwasher with this trick. Empty your dishwasher of any dishes or utensils. Fill a glass container with one cup of white vinegar and place it on the top rack of your dishwasher. Close the door and run it through a hot water cycle. Once it’s done, the inside of your dishwasher should be grime free.”

I saw these tips on the Scrubbi blog, but there are more. If you love natural products as much as I do, check out their original post 8 Surprising Uses Of Vinegar That Will Change Your Life.
